Botox® and Dysport® are FDA-approved neuromodulator treatments in the form of naturally occurring purified proteins. These treatments work beneath the surface to temporarily decrease muscle activity that leads to frown lines, crow's feet, vertical lines, fine lines and wrinkles, softening their appearance. 

With over 30 years of active application and millions of treatments performed worldwide, Botox® and Dysport® are among the most rigorously tested, safe and impactful procedures in non-invasive aesthetic medicine. Treatment takes just minutes to perform!

Depending on the neuromodulator you choose and the size of areas being treated, the cost ranges from about $13-$16 per unit. For example, if you need 25 units of Botox® to treat creases on your forehead, the cost would be $400. If you only need 20 units to treat that area with Botox®, the cost would be $320. Some patients require less treatment with each maintenance procedure performed, which can reduce overall costs.

Results from Botox® start taking effect 3-5 days after treatment, while Dysport® will start taking effect 2-5 days after treatment. Maximum impact will be visible right around the 14 day mark!

Reduction in the harshness of lines begins taking effect about 1–2 days after treatment, and patients can expect to see optimal results after 1 week.

The cosmetic improvements from neuromodulators last about 3-6 months for most patients. Often, we see that less treatment is required over time when performing touch-ups, which are safe to treat with for as long as desired.

Side effects for each neuromodulator are similar but differ by treatment area, and are often associated with unqualified or novice injectors. Most individuals tolerate treatment well – however, rare side effects may include but are not limited to:

• Dry eyes
• Numbness
• Mild pain, swelling, bruising or redness around the injection area
• Headache

Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological disease should not be treated with neuromodulators.

As neuromodulators are non-invasive procedures performed in just minutes, no downtime is typically necessary – most patients may apply makeup and return to daily activities immediately following treatment. We recommend avoiding heavy exercise or pressing on the treatment area in the first 24 hours after injection.

Yes! A common procedure we perform with Botox® is to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Botox® is injected to target and treat the nerves responsible for excessive sweating. This procedure will stop targeted sweat glands in the underarms from producing too much sweat.

Micro-Botox® is a procedure that provides a subtle change, in the face and/ or neck, that creates a smoother, more youthful appearance. Our injectables treatment plans begin with a complimentary consultation, during which time our experts will discuss your desired results with you and provide recommendations for the best procedures for you. If you will be treating with Botox® or Dysport®, we will look at your muscle movements and expressions to customize treatment to your individual anatomy! 

Once your treatment plan is finalized and you come in for your appointment, our staff will help guide you to your treatment room and prep your treatment area(s) by cleaning them. In some cases, a numbing agent may be applied to minimize sensation. Your injector will then quickly and safely administer the injections of Botox® or filler through a very fine needle or blunt tip canula.
